CHOOSING YOUR SPELL CANDLE OR CANDLES

Choose your spell candle or candles carefully from the candle correspondents.

Make sure that the energies you want are represented within its colour.

Engrave the spell words around the candle or candles and the name of the planet on the base.

E.g. if you are doing a spell to reconcile a friendship you may choose a pink candle or a green candle, perhaps even both to raise the energies of:

Pink candle emotions: inner strength, gentle action, reconciliation, playful nature, affection, sensitivity, compromise, satisfaction, friendship, affection, ethics, good humour and inner harmony.

Green candle emotions: reconciliation, family, relationships, versatility, balance, regeneration, renewal, goals, growth, abundance, prosperity, wealth, change, wisdom, knowledge, peace, harmony, purpose, relaxation, healing of the physical body, balanced judgements and decisions.

Once you've finished choosing your spell candle or candles they will need to be dressed ready for your spell.

Caution: for safety purposes, please use candle plates / candle holders.

DRESSING YOUR CANDLES

Concentrate on the moment and focus on your goal as you dress your candle or candles.

Things you will need:

An oil of your choice to dress the candle or candles.
Your second athame to engrave the words.

Check your correspondents to make sure you're working under the right planet and then choose the candle colour or colours that represent the energies you will call upon.

Caution! Oils can be highly flammable so use the oil with care and always use candle holders for safety purposes.

Wipe around the candle or candles one at a time in a clockwise direction with the oil starting from the middle, working your way around to the top.

Then turn the candle around and put your hands back to the centre still working in a clockwise direction. Wipe the candle around to the base. When you've finished, place the dressed candle or candles in their holders on your altar or your pentacle upon the altar in the appropriate place ready for cleansing and purifying.

LIGHTING THE SPELL CANDLE AND RELEASING THE ENERGIES OF THE SPELL

Things you will need:

Your spell candle.
Your spell words.
A lighter.
A snuffer.

Light the spell candle/candles and look in to the flame.

Focus on the moment for a while then when you are ready, pick up the written spell from your altar and read the spell words aloud.

Then burn the written spell in the flame or flames of the spell candle or candles and place the burning spell in to your cauldron.

You've now released the energies of your spell in to the atmosphere and towards your goal.

When you're ready, drink a toast to the Moon Goddess and the Sun God to give blessings and thanks for their presence and protection.

When you feel your spell has reached its peak, use your snuffer to snuff out the spell candles, you don't need to say anything you can just snuff them out.

CHOOSING YOUR RITUAL SABBAT CANDLES

Choose your ritual candles carefully from the candle correspondents making sure that the energies you want are represented within its colours.

Once you have finished choosing your ritual candles, they will need to be dressed ready for your ritual.

Remember! If you don't have the correct colour candle, white can be used as an alternative for any other colour.

THE WRITTEN WORDS OF YOUR SABBAT

Think very carefully about the words you will use in your sabbat.

Let them represent the energies the Moon Goddess and the Sun God are feeling at this point in the Wiccan Wheel of the year.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO MAKE UP YOUR OWN SABBAT WORDS USE MINE.
