The wheel of the Wiccan year tells us so much more than when the seasons are changing, when to plant and when to harvest. It also tells us the story of our spiritual parents, the Moon Goddess our mother and the Sun God our father and the balanced relationship they share together.
I will not mention the effect the Wiccan wheel of the year has on the planet, but I will say it has an effect on every woman as a Goddess and every man as a God in their own right.
As we learn more about our spiritual parents, we will learn more about ourselves.
In all there are eight rituals throughout the Wiccan year, each one approximately six weeks apart. There are four major rituals and four minor rituals, each one describing the different stage our parents are at in their lives and the lessons they are learning along the way.
We all jump on the wheel of the year the day we are born. As each day passes we have new lessons to learn, so we can move forwards on our own life path. We need to be channelled and focused, for the path we walk on is not always easy or smooth and the lessons we learn are not always pleasant.
If we do not learn by our mistakes the first time around, we will only be offered the same lesson again in a different situation.
